We are hiring for on-farm employee

Part time goat milker/herdsperson needed. Starting mid-January 2020, looking for an individual to live on the farm and milk and help care for our herd of 150 milking goats. Some early mornings, some weekend shifts (5-7 shifts per week). We are flexible but approx 15-20 hours a week through winter and spring, less in fall and winter. Experience a plus but enthusiasm and reliability a must! We will gladly train the right person. Must be able to work on feet for 3+ hour shift, lift 50 lbs, love goats, and live on premises. Responsibilities will include all aspects of dairy life: milking in our 16-stall parlor, cleaning, feeding, moving fence, assisting with health maintenance, kidding, and animal monitoring.  Most of the time you are working independently, sometimes with others. If it is full time work that you need, the farm work can be combined with hands-on cheesework for the right person. Come be a positive, enthusiastic and hard working member of our small team producing high-end artisanal cheese. Good pay and safe, affordable, quality housing in a furnished efficiency apartment (pictured here). Access to a garden plot as well. We ask for a minimum 9 month commitment, but we are flexible and would consider longer or shorter if the fit is right. No smokers. Pets okay with permission.
