Blue Ledge Farm in Leicester is looking to fill two year-round, part-time positions on their 150-goat dairy farm and cheese operation. Applicants are welcome to apply for one or both positions.
Milking position: Mondays and Thursdays, 5:30-8 am and 3:30-6 pm (approx 10 hours total per week, fewer Dec & Jan). Responsible for feeding and attending to our wonderful herd of goats, cleaning and sanitary milking in our single-16 parlor. Experience milking is a plus, a love of animals a necessity! Competitive hourly wage.
Assistant Cheesemaker position: Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays, approx 8 am-noon. Responsible for cleaning moulds, walls, floors, pouring curds, running equipment, and all aspects of cheese production and maturing. Work independently and together with our small team making high-quality artisan cheese! Extreme attention to detail is a must. Experience is a plus but will train the right person in food safety and production methods. Competitive hourly wage.
